The NCAA can't allow or disallow any of them any more than they could me having a top 25 poll on here.

OK, then any official poll they use in the BCS equation shouldn't be allowed till the first week of October.
it is just crazy to rank a team based on last year's record and returners without showing what they have on the field this year. you start a team out of the top 15 and although they are a GREAT team the chances of the climbing into the title hunt is just crazy. In other sports it is a bit different because they have a tournment to decide things so early ranking are not nearly as important.

I don't know how that really hurts anything either. They only use who the last BCS equation has rated as #1 and 2 to play in the title game. Who they have 3rd or 7th in the first week of the season means nothing. Climbing up from outside of the top 15 to the title game isn't impossible either. Tennessee was #16 in the preseason AP poll in 98. In 2000 OK was ranked #24 and won. The only team that I can think of who's been left on the outside looking in and have any kind of argument would be Auburn who started 17th in 04 an finished 2nd in the final poll of course their argument is kind of quelched after seeing what OK did in 2000.
